The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) foresees for this Thursday persistent rainfall in the eastern Cantabrian, wind with strong intervals on the Cantabrian coast and a noticeable drop in temperatures in the upper Ebro, eastern Cantabrian and Pyrenees.

In the rest of the PeninsulaCloudy sky with precipitation in the central mountain systems, more scattered and less abundant than those of the extreme north; in the southern half of the Mediterranean peninsular area and the Balearic Islands, medium and high clouds during the second half of the day. Intervals of measured and high clouds with weak precipitation in the north of the westernmost islands of the Canary Islands. Presence of morning fogs in the west of the peninsula, the interior of the Cantabrian Sea, the upper Ebro and the Pyrenees.

Daytime temperatures will drop in most of the Peninsula, especially in the upper Ebro and eastern Cantabrian Sea. Thermal rise in the extreme south of the peninsula, the Mediterranean coast and the Balearic Islands.

The wind will blow from the west component in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, it will intensify throughout the day, with strong gusts on the Cantabrian coast. The weak north wind will predominate in the Canary Islands.

Prediction by autonomous communities:

– GALICIA: intervals of low clouds at the beginning with an increase in the sky, with light rains and showers, which will be more scattered and occasional in the southern half. Morning mists in the southeast and scattered fog banks. Falling temperatures, less pronounced in La Coruña in the lows. The wind will blow from the west and southwest, and will roll during the afternoon to the northwest, with strong intervals on the north coast and very strong gusts in the second half of the day.

– ASTURIAS: Intervals of low clouds at first, which will increase to cloudy or overcast with light rains and showers that will be more likely during the afternoon. Morning mists in the mountain range and scattered fog banks. Minimum temperatures falling. Maximum temperatures slightly decreasing in the eastern half and decreasing in the rest. Minimum temperatures will be reached at the end of the day. West component wind, with strong intervals and very strong gusts on the coast and in mountain areas.

– CANTABRIA: Cloudy or covered with rains and showers occasionally with storm, less intense and frequent in the extreme south and during the morning, and intensifying throughout the afternoon, which will be strong and persistent on the coast. Morning mists and fog banks in the interior, especially in the high areas of the southwest and that will be repeated at the end of the day. Falling temperatures, more pronounced in the eastern half. The minimums will be reached at the end of the day. On the coast, the wind will blow from the west which will increase to strong and will roll to the northwest during the afternoon. In the interior, variable light wind with a northwest trend in the afternoon, except in Campoo where it will tend to the southwest and will be more intense. Very strong gusts of wind are expected on the coast during the afternoon that will extend to the eastern highlands at the end.

– BASQUE COUNTRY: cloudy sky or overcast with rains and showers occasionally with thunderstorm, generally weak, and unlikely in Álava in the morning. Throughout the afternoon, rainfall will intensify, be locally strong and persistent on the coast, and will spread to the south of the region. Presence of morning mists in high areas of the southeast. Falling temperatures, more pronounced in the highs in the northern half, locally notable. The minimums will be reached at the end of the day. On the coast, the wind will blow from the west and northwest, increasing strongly in the afternoon with very strong gusts. In the interior, variable loose wind with a tendency during the afternoon to the northwest, except in Álava, which will intensify and tend to the southwest to remain from the loose northwest at the end.

– CASTILLA Y LEÓN: sky covered with precipitation, especially in the south in the first half of the day and in the north at the end. Falling temperatures, except for the minimum in the extreme east that will remain unchanged. The wind will blow from the southwest turning west.

– NAVARRA: Cloudy or overcast sky, with a tendency to cloudy intervals in the southeast during the afternoon. Rains and showers in the northern third of the morning and during the second half of the day, unlikely during the morning, and likely to be strong and persistent on the Cantabrian slope without ruling it out in the Pyrenees. Some weak and scattered precipitation is expected in the rest of the region, especially in the early morning and at the end of the day, and with the exception of the extreme southeast where it is not expected. Morning mists and fog banks in the Pyrenees and mountains of the extreme west.

Falling temperatures, except for the minimum in the southern third with few changes, and the maximum in the Cantabrian slope being more pronounced, where it will reach locally notable. The minimums will be reached at the end of the day. Variable loose wind with a tendency towards the west component in the afternoon and towards the north at the end, with some more intense intervals during the second half of the day, especially in the extreme north.

– THE RIOJA: Cloudy skies to cover with probability of precipitations, mainly in the first half of the day and weak in general. Minimum temperatures in slight descent and maximum in slight descent. Wind from the southwest to the west in the mountains and from the west in the valley.

– ARAGON: cloudy skies in the Pyrenees and cloudy intervals in the rest. Precipitations are expected, more likely in the Pyrenees and in the Iberian, and less likely and more dispersed in the rest. Minimum temperatures without significant changes and maximum decreasing. The wind will tack light to moderate from the west component.

– CATALONIA: cloudy sky, with a tendency to decrease cloudiness at the end. Minimum temperatures rising in the southern half and without significant changes in the rest; maximum in slight descent. The wind will blow light to moderate with a predominance of the west component.

– EXTREMADURA: Cloudy sky or covered with precipitation, especially in the northern half and finally remitting together with a decrease in cloudiness. Minimum temperatures decreasing in the north and slightly decreasing in the south, and maximum temperatures without changes. The wind will blow from the southwest to the west.

– MADRID’S COMMUNITY: cloudy or overcast sky, opening clear in the afternoon. Light rains and scattered showers in the morning, accompanied by a storm and will tend to subside in the afternoon. Presence of some morning mist in the northern half. Temperatures without changes or in slight decrease, with minimums that will occur at the end of the day. The wind will blow lightly from the southwest, turn to the west and northwest, and will increase in intensity from noon, with very strong gusts in the surroundings of Navacerrada during the second half of the day.

– CASTILLA LA MANCHA: cloudy or overcast sky, opening clear at the end of the day. Morning mists are expected in high areas of the northeast quadrant, as well as the extreme west of Toledo. Light rains and showers in the morning, and early afternoon in the northern half accompanied by a storm, less likely and scattered the further south. Temperatures unchanged or slightly decreasing, with lows that will locally occur at the end of the day in the northern half. The wind will blow lightly from the southwest at dawn, which in the morning will turn to the west, increasing in intensity; being also from the northwest in Albacete.

– VALENCIAN COMMUNITY: sparsely covered sky at cloudy intervals, with occasional rainfall in the afternoon in Castellón and in the interior of Valencia. Temperatures without significant changes. The wind will blow from a light to moderate westerly component.

– MURCIA: sky with intervals of medium and high clouds. Temperatures with little change. The wind will blow from the west component, turning southwest along the coast during the afternoon.

– BALEARES: slightly cloudy sky with a tendency during the afternoon to cloudy with medium and high clouds, without ruling out some weak and occasional precipitation at night in Menorca. Temperatures with few changes or in slight rise. The wind will blow from the west and southwest generally lightly with an increase during the afternoon.

– ANDALUSIA: sky with cloudy intervals, mainly medium and high clouds, more abundant in the interior and the Atlantic coast; with occasional light rainfall in the interior, more likely in the mountains of the northern half of the region. Maximum temperatures on the rise in the southern half, more pronounced in Cádiz; and with few changes the rest. The wind will blow from the west component, with strong intervals from the afternoon on the coast of Almería and eastern highlands.

– CANARY ISLANDS: Intervals of medium and high clouds, occasional light rains in Tenerife and La Palma, and possibility in Gran Canaria. Slight haze on peaks. Little or rising temperatures on the eastern islands; declining inland in western ones. On the coasts, light wind with breezes. At the summits, a weak to moderate southwest wind, strong in Tenerife and with the probability of occasionally very strong gusts in El Teide.
